Getting these prostate-healthy nutrients is easy and can be delicious too. Here are a few recipes that deliver prostate-supporting nutrients and happy taste buds in every bite.

Sweet Potato With Pomegranate, Coconut, and Lime


  • 4 sweet potatoes
  • ½ cup light coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds
  • ¼ toasted unsweetened coconut flakes
  • Kosher salt
  • Lime wedges


  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Arrange sweet potatoes, pricked with a fork, on a rimmed baking sheet, and roast until tender, about 45 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  3. Slice tops and mash sweet potatoes with a fork.
  4. Divide coconut milk, coconut flakes, cilantro, and pomegranate seeds among sweet potatoes.
  5. Season with salt. Garnish with additional sprigs of cilantro and serve with lime wedges

Maple Glazed Salmon & Mediterranean Couscous


  • 4 cups red grape or cherry tomatoes
  • 3 large garlic cloves, unpeeled
  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 1 heaping tablespoon orange zest
  • 1-pound salmon fillet
  • 2¾ cups chicken broth
  • 2¼ cups pearl couscous
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup black olives, pitted and chopped
  • ⅓ cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh mint
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme


  1. Whisk the soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, and orange zest together in a small bowl.
  2. Place the salmon fillet in a resealable plastic bag and pour in the soy mixture.
  3. Close the bag, place it onto a plate, and store it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  4. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
  5. Halve tomatoes and arrange cut sides up in a single layer on a large baking pan with the unpeeled garlic. Roast in the middle of the oven for about 1 hour.
  6. Let the tomatoes cool in the pan on a rack for 30 minutes.
  7. Squeeze roasted garlic out of its skin and puree with olive oil, water, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and ½ cup roasted tomatoes in a blender until the dressing is very smooth.
  8. Bring the chicken broth to a boil, stir in couscous, and simmer, uncovered, for 6 minutes. Cover pan and remove from heat. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  9. Preheat your broiler and remove the salmon from the bag, discarding the garlic.
  10. Place onto a baking tray and broil for 8 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
  11. Transfer couscous to a bowl and stir with the dressing, roasted tomatoes, olives, parsley, mint, thyme, salt, and pepper to taste.
  12. Serve salmon with couscous and enjoy.

Cranberry & Pomegranate Pie


  • 9-inch prepared pie shell
  • ⅔ cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1 ½ cup brown sugar
  • 5 eggs slightly beaten
  • 1 ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 1 ¼ cup light corn syrup


  1. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, vanilla, and eggs.
  2. Whisk until well-combined.
  3. Fold in walnuts, cranberries, and pomegranate seeds.
  4. Pour into a 9-inch unbaked pie shell.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 50–65 minutes.
  6. The center will still be slightly jiggly, but the edges will be set and golden brown.
  7. Cool completely and serve.
