I was listening to the news. I heard the words “bomb cyclone and atmospheric river.” These terms really struck me as being ominous.
Being the curious person that I am, I stopped what I was doing and did a search on the Internet. Oh no! The storms that hit the West Coast recently headed east.
According to Arizona’s Family, A bomb cyclone is a system that drops at least 24 mb in pressure 24 hours or less. Atmospheric rivers are narrow bands of concentrated moisture that cruise more than 2 miles above the ocean and release rain or snow when they hit land.”
How is anyone supposed to prepare to bug in for these disasters?
