If you’re like most people in these scary times, you’re probably worrying about your health, and with cancer and heart disease being the number one and number 2 highest preventable causes of death in the United States each year. You have a good reason too!. So that brings us to the topic of this article. What are some supplements you can take to keep your heart healthy?

1. Quercetin

Quercetin is a plant pigment or flavonoid that’s found in many plants and foods, such as red wine, onions, green tea, apples, and berries. Quercetin has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects that might help reduce swelling, kill cancer cells, control blood sugar, and prevent heart disease. This flavonoid also prevents the hardening of the arteries, lowers cholesterol, and improves blood circulation.

2. Krill Oil

Krill oil is an oil extracted from tiny krill found in the Antarctic ocean. Krill oil, much like fish oil is an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to lower LDL “bad” cholesterol and raise HDL “good” cholesterol. That’s not all though krill oil also decreases inflammation in the heart and improves the lining of the blood vessels.

3. Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like substance found throughout the body. This heart-loving little guy is commonly used to help treat heart-related issues like heart failure, congestive heart failure, chest pain, and high blood pressure.

4. Berberine

Berberine is a chemical found in some plants like goldenseal and European barberry. Berberine strengthens your heartbeat, balances blood sugar, lowers blood pressure, and lowers cholesterol. possibly the best part of berberine is its ability to inhibit the pcsk9 enzyme, which results in even better cholesterol numbers.

5. Magnesium Orotate & Taurate

Magnesium is the ultimate anti-stress nutrient but it is also involved in over 100 different functions of the body, making it vital for good health. Certain forms of magnesium play an even larger role in health. Specifically, magnesium orotate and magnesium taurate are the two most beneficial forms of magnesium for the heart.

6. Fiber

Fiber is the general name for certain carbohydrates usually found in grains and vegetables. Fiber consists of two times soluble & insoluble, combined they form total fiber. The type of fiber you use makes a big difference, the best fiber is whole grain natural fiber.

7. NMN

Nicotinamide Mononucleotide or (NMN) is a precursor to NAD. Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide or (NAD) fuels every cell in the body, making it crucial. If we ran out of NAD, we would die in 30 seconds. Sadly as we age, our NAD levels drop. This is where NMN comes in to increase NAD, ensuring your heart cells stay fueled and pumping blood!.

8. Whey Protein

There are two types of protein found in milk Whey & Casein. Whey is the translucent liquid part of the milk that remains after the cheese manufacturing process. Whey protein has been shown to boost glutathione, improve heart health, and extend life span. Whey protein works to improve heart health by reducing blood pressure, decreasing arterial stiffness, and improving lipid profiles.

9. CBD Oil

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid found in the Cannabis Sativa and Hemp plant. CBD oil is one of my favorite supplements because it offers so many benefits and is incredibly good for you!. CBD reduces inflammation and promotes homeostasis, a perfect environment for the heart!.

10. Olive Oil

Olive oil is the natural oil extracted from olives. roughly 14% of the oil is saturated fat and 11% is polyunsaturated omega 3 fatty acids. Olive oil is predominantly oleic acid. Olive oil help and protects the heart in many ways, including preventing strokes, packing a ton of antioxidants, and lowering LDL cholesterol. This is perhaps why the Mediterranean diet is the best diet for coronary health.
