BLOOD may be defined as a fluid connective tissue, which circulates in a closed system of blood vessles .Blood contains many types of cells such as PLATELETS, WBCs ,RBCs, and pale yellow colored fluid called PLASMA. In adults the total volume of blood in the body is about 6 liters. or about 5,600ml in a 70 kg man. The formed element account for about 46 % of total blood volume .Blood is slighlty alkaline with a PH of about 7.35–7.45 the specific gravity of blood is about 1.048–1.066 .
