A Point of Dispensing (POD) is a technical term used to describe the centralized locations used by disaster management operators to distribute sustaining resources like food, water, and medical supplies. While logistical resources like the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) are based around nationalized federal guidance, POD readiness plans are essentially drafted out on a state-by-state basis.
