How Celebrities Prepped Their Skin For This Year’s Emmy Awards

Television’s biggest night is back. Before our favorite A-listers hit the red carpet in jaw-dropping fashion, glam and jewels, it’s all about the skin prep. Ahead, the treatments and tools trusted to perfect the most recognizable faces in television for tonight’s 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards.

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore’s makeup artist, Kindra Mann, reached for the SolaWave Wand ($149) to prep the This Is Us star’s skin ahead of the Emmys red carpet. “To get the skin glowing I like to start prepping clean skin using the Solawave before applying skin-care products,” says Mann. Aside from red-light therapy, the wand also uses microcurrent, therapeutic warmth and massage to sculpt the skin and support a healthy complexion. Also in tow for Moore’s big night out: her handy breast pump, which the new mom posted on Instagram stories with caption: “Tonight’s MVP accessory.”

Hannah Waddingham

Waddingham may be glowing from her Best Supporting Actress win at the top of the night, but the secret to the Ted Lasso star’s glowing skin is a whole lot of skin-care steps, all from QMS Medicosmetics. The hero of the bunch: “the dreamy creamy QMS Power Firm Mask ($95),” says celebrity makeup artist Stephen Sollitto, who removes the excess with a clean cloth to keep the skin dewy and supple.

Taraji P. Henson

Celebrity makeup artist Saisha Beecham prepped Henson’s skin with the cult-classic microcurrent-powered NuFACE Toning Device ($339) ahead of the red carpet. “Perfect way to tone, contour and lift in 5 mins,” she shared in the caption of her behind-the scenes snap, shared on Instagram. Also spotted in the lineup: brightening and de-puffing Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Hydra-Gel Eye Patches ($75) for an extra dose of Taraji’s signature glow.

Kaley Cuoco

Celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg prepped the Emmy-nominee with a double-dose of skin-care treatments. Up first: hydrating and brightening Revive Skincare’s Masque de Radiance ($150), followed by the innovative CurrentBody Skin Dr. Harris Anti-Wrinkle Mask ($125), designed to soften the look of wrinkles in minutes. “The best red carpet makeup starts with great skin-care prep,” says the artist.

Susan Kelechi Watson

Celebrity makeup artist Samuel Paul Morales prepped This Is Us star Susan Kelechi Watson’s skin with none other than ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr Secure the Blur Hydrating Under Eye Patches ($25 for 6) to hydrate the under-eye area, de-puff and prep for makeup.
