Oven cleaning hacks: How to avoid ‘harsh fumes’ by cleaning with vinegar and baking soda

Cleaning your oven may be a chore on your New Year list, but it can certainly be a daunting one. While numerous products line the supermarket aisles boasting an easy way to scrub your appliance, they can contain harsh chemicals.

It makes a great cleaner and disinfectant because it’s made from acetic acid.

The acidic nature of vinegar is so powerful it can dissolve mineral deposits, dirt, grease, and grime.

Vinegar can also kill some bacteria.

Reddit user TNpitt-mama said they first “fill a suit bottle with water and mist” the inside of their oven.

Once again, this should be left for a further three hours to work its magic

Finally, wipe down the oven and clean.

The Reddit user added: “I’ve had great success with this method.

“Clean-up can be a pain but it’s not too bad.”
