Resilience in the Face of Setbacks: Nandi Hills Journey | by Nitin Garg | Jun, 2024

Navigating Setbacks and Discovering Strength at Nandi Hills

👦 🌄 I went to Nandi Hills with my family, hoping that we would spend a day of relaxation and sightseeing. However, our trip did not start off smoothly. The roads were congested with heavy traffic, which made us doubt whether it was a good day for our outing.

🏨 Upon finally reaching our hotel, we were waiting impatiently to check-in to our room. However, we were told that it was not ready yet and were asked to wait for 1–2 hours. Despite our initial disappointment, we tried our best to pass the time with patience and understanding.

⏲ But when we checked back, there was still a delay of 20 minutes. At this point, the frustration set in, which tested our resilience and ability to stay positive.

👨👩👦 🍲 After finally reaching our room, we went to the hotel restaurant for lunch, hoping to relax and recharge. We found out that there was no food service available that day as their chef was sick and hospitalized. It felt like everything was going wrong. It seemed like one failure after another.

😠 Frustrated but determined to not let these challenges ruin my day.

🔆 This is what I call “live in your present moment”. Back in our room, we ordered food from outside, although it took some effort.

💡 🔦 Life is about learning lessons from experiences.

Life Lessons from Hill: Embracing Resilience, Courage, and Growth

🌄 I went to the balcony of my room, and saw a tall hill about 300 meters away. I realized that no matter how many challenges and disasters come, that hill is strong and tall, never backing down.

🌄 Life brings challenges to us, let us remember the lessons from the mountain. Let us stand strong, face the difficulties bravely and believe in our potential. Just like the mountain, we can emerge from every storm stronger and more resilient than before.

✨ 🎆 Life doesn’t always go as planned. Sometimes, things happen that we don’t expect. But how we react is what matters. Patience means staying calm and not getting upset when things take longer than we expected. Today, we encountered traffic delays, room availability issues, and even a lack of food service. But instead of letting these setbacks ruin our day, let’s learn from them.

✨ 🎆Patience is not just about waiting, but how we should behave while waiting. It helps us stay calm and focused, even when things aren’t going our way.

✨ 🎆Setbacks are opportunities for growth. Resilience is the ability to recover from our setbacks stronger than ever. It’s about turning challenges into learning experiences and emerging stronger on the other side.

✨ 🎆The value of gratitude. Even in difficult times, there is always something to be grateful for. Today, despite delays and disappointments, we are together as a family, and that’s what matters most.

✨ 🎆No matter what, we can look for the good in every situation. It’s about having an optimistic attitude, even when things seem tough.

😍 As we talked, we realized that our challenging day was teaching us important lessons about patience, resilience, gratitude and positivity. We finished our trip as a family, ready to face whatever came our way with a positive attitude and grateful hearts.

📣 At the end of my story about the problems at the hotel, I want to emphasize that my problems were small compared to the big problems in society. Even though my family had problems at the hotel, they were temporary problems that we could handle with patience. But in our society:

💡Finding a partner: Many people (well-paid, boys/girls) are not able to find the right person to marry which makes them worry about their future. Some people fall into depression, mental health problems…

💡More people are getting divorced: Nowadays, I’ve noticed that divorce has become the norm; couples are separating very quickly over minor issues, which is affecting families and people’s emotions

💡Arguments and bitterness: People who fight with each other and hold grudges against each other can cause a lot of problems in their lives.

💡Feeling bad compared to others: Many people feel unhappy because they compare themselves too much to others, which makes them feel that they are not good enough.

🕯 These big problems show how difficult life can be for many people. It is important to remember these big challenges and be kind and understanding to people who are going through a difficult time. Everyone’s problems, whether big or small, deserve respect and support.

📢 The lesson here is :

🔹Our problem may be small, but it takes barely a few minutes to make it so big that an entire life can be ruined.

🔹Sometimes, we think our problems are big. Before exaggerating their importance, consider the much larger problems that exist in society

🔹We should appreciate what we have and focus on your own life journey. Everyone’s path is unique, and what matters most is your own progress and growth.

🔹Surround yourself with friends and family who support you. Healthy relationships contribute significantly to emotional health.

🔹Understand that relationships and life in general have ups and downs. This is life, if we don’t have ups and downs in our lives, we will not achieve anything.

🔆 🎉 Life is about learning and moving forward from your experiences and letting others move forward too.
